Tested on Live CD build 20060310. The problem is still here.

Putting the following lines:

HorizSync 30-70
VertRefresh 50-160

in the "Monitor" section of the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file, the problem solves. It seems that the problem is in the monitor properties autodetection.
