I'm seeing this regularly as well. Often I am doing something with video or audio. This last time, I launched an mp3 in VLC, and the screen immediately froze. The audio kept playing. About 15 minutes later, when the mp3 ended, the screen immediately unfroze and everything seemed fine.

It has been happening once every 2 days or so, but has on occasion occurred multiple times on the same day. Often, I can't wait to see if it will come back, and sometimes it never does, so I have to reboot. This is brutal for things like presentations, having no idea if the machine will suddenly just freeze.
