Sorry for the delay, but I have forgotten this bug report. Apparently I don't
receive the mail from bugzilla to my email address <email address hidden>.
Because I don't remember my password, and when bugzilla send me a mail to change
the password I don't receive it, I'm using anoter email address.
I've just received a new PC (new motherboard, new processor, new graphic card)
but I've kept the same monitor. I've install ubuntu Hoary directly from the CD
and I got the same problem. The monitor was by default limited to 1024 instead
of 1280 and I had to manually launch dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig to enable the
subpixel rendering.
The new graphic card is an ATI
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R350 [Radeon
9800 Pro]
0000:01:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R350 [Radeon 9800
Pro] (Secondary)
Here is the output of ddcprobe and xresprobe dummy :
root@neptune:/ # ddcprobe
VESA BIOS Extensions not detected.
