If I plug the monitor into the HDMI port I do not get any screen output, neither for the X desktop nor for the text console, but X is running and if I SSH in from another machine xrandr gives:

So X finds the correct resolution when the monitor is connected to the HDMI port but the monitor does not see any signal. The monitor has only a DVI port and is connected via a passive HDMI->DVI adapter. The monitor (EIZO EV2333W 23", 1920x1080 native) works on the HDMI port of the Pandaboard if the Pandaboard is running Precise.

Running Raring with the Pandaboard connected to a TV (Sony Bravia from 2007, 720p) the desktop displays immediately without any problems.

Attaching logs of the Pandaboard running Raring with the EIZO connected to the HDMI port (system is configured for auto-login).
