I performed the following:
removed Adobe Flash-plugin 10.0.32.18-1
installed security updates
installed 12.04 LTS upgrade
the upgrade hung on downloading printer items from sourceforge.net
rebooted and lost internet connectivity, including wired and wifi
performed partial upgrade
rebooted and completed process successfully. wired and wifi working
I am impressed with diligence. Hope this helps a little. I am mostly an
end-user who just likes Linux.

the upgrade hung on downloading printer items from sourceforge.net
