That's interesting. There seems to be no problems with current packages. Do you have any third party repositories enabled in your system? There might be a package from a PPA missing some of its dependencies and Update Manager refuses to update the package causing the entire upgrade to fail.
Could you also paste the output from command 'sudo apt-get upgrade' to this bug? Hopefully that gives us some information about the package causing the issues...
