Comment 5 for bug 970068

They look similar, but my situation was manifested only if window was aligned bottom left. I'm not familiar with inner workings of Unity, but this could be the same bug. I'm currently not on 12.04, but I can do test again this afternoon (it's morning for me), and I'll post results.
