I'm also affected. It was not acceptable for me to loose my work, so I was looking for workaround. And I have found it:
What I did:
0) Switch to VT1 using Ctrl + Alt + F1, logged in
1) killall light-locker
2) killall gnome-screensaver
3) killall /usr/lib/unity/unity-panel-service
4) /usr/lib/unity/unity-panel-service --inhibit logout
5) unity --replace
I think number five (number 0 prepended) solves the problem, but in order to be sure, I have added another tries.
