Suppose you do not have a mouse, touchpad, or other pointing device. If you alt-f10 on the LightDM login screen, and select 'shutdown', a shutdown pane pops up. but WITHOUT focus, with the 'shutdown' button pre-selected.
There is no visible way for jumping on the shutdown pane, and actually shutting down the system (or cancelling the operation).
