Same problem here on Feisty, with the same solution working, i.e loading the visor module.
In order to automate this at startup, just put "visor" in the /etc/modules file.
In Edgy, I didn't have to do this, i.e the visor module loaded upon pressing the hotsync button of my Palm Treo 650.
