After doing the update you will need to restart all the Ubuntu One Services. You can kill the processes with the following:
killall ubuntu-sso-login; killall ubuntuone-syncdaemon
Then start Ubuntu One by typing in the terminal:
ubuntuone-preferences
This way we might get something printed to the Terminal, if it does not work, that will help us understand what is going on.
