The string changes can be made manually for commands, we just don't have an automated way to do it. You're welcome to make the modifications yourself, but there is no guarantee that in the future the default width of html pages won't change. IIRC, the same problem appears when viewing in yelp which is still a problem for ubuntu-docs.
