Why should we need to download a new cd everytime there is a new Ubuntu release. For me it's not really a problem, but it would be convenient to use the same cd over and over again. And for new users or users getting their CD from a magazine or book it may be of great impotence, they might even not know that they don't got the latest and greatest. My proposal is that if a networkconnection is detected when launching the liveCD installer, it checks wheter this CD contains the latest Ubuntu release. If not it could present the uses whit a dialog like this

                          WARNING

The CD you are installing from is outdated. It is recommendet to use the latest
release, do you want to automaticly download and install the latest vesion? Installing
from the net may take longer time than installing from the CD depending on your
                          internet connection.

I they answer yes, then just download the latest installer script and do a network install using it.
