I just did a dry run and the ubuntu-9.10-desktop-amd64 installer found, and correctly identified my 3 hdd's (2x ide, 1 sata) and the numerous distro and data partitions, including 3 windows installs, gutsy, jaunty, and sundry NTFS and FAT32s...

I do not use raid on my system.
