Would be great if someone could be more explicit about how many times you need to mount/unmount? Why would it not be sufficient to do it (just) once?
In my case the partition was initially unmounted. I mounted it 5 times (no particular reason, just a random number) and it worked. I regret not trying to mount it just once.
To anyone facing this same issue, I urge you to try to mount it just once and see if the issue is resolved.
