Well, I am still unable to get this working. If we are now moving onto
considering it to be hardware related here is what I have...

Additionally and I believe this could very well be relevant, I am
running two monitors. A Sharp LL-T1800 which is an 18" panel with a
native resolution of 1280x1024, my secondary panel is a Dell 1703FP, a
17" panel with a native resolution of 1280x1024. If it would be
helpful I have the binary EDID dumps from each monitor. My nVidia 8600
Gt is running the latest drivers (100.14.X), but I am fairly certain
this is lower level than that. The drivers aren't even loaded at that
point in the boot process if I am not mistaken (which I very well
could be).
