Wow. Really? "Well, we've fixed it in the next release WHICH IS STILL ALPHA. Why don't you just upgrade now?"

This bug was identified and fixed upstream two months before Karmic was released. No packages depend on it... it was caused by a typo in a patch... and yet all the brainpower behind Ubuntu can't get the fixed package into karmic?

WTF?
