Build Identifier: Version 2.0.0.19 (20090105)
There was a bug filed in the Ubuntu launchpad, which was classified as a feature request. Therefor, we're reporting it here so the Mozilla Thunderbird developers recognize it:
One of the best features of KMail is that after checking mail, a message REMAINS in the status bar saying a time (and date), and that there are no new messages. It lets you see that mail checking is going on in the background. Howerver, in Thunderbird, the status message flickers very briefly (often too quickly to read), and then disappears.
This is something that has been constant in Thunderbird over the last few releases that I've used.
