The solution with installing the package xul-ext-lightning definitely works, having one issue: the only language it contains is English, which looks very uncool to have a mixed language Thunderbirds for users using that in other language than English.

Solution B:

As we have already learnt, on the official add-on page of lightning there is only a version being 18 months old. This is strange, when you look at the new homepage of the add-on:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Calendar/Calendar_Versions

There you see the list of the add-ons for each new thunderbirds. At least their bug list references.

If you continue searching, you find this link: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/calendar/lightning/

You may think, wow, we're done. No, not really.

Check out releases: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/calendar/lightning/releases/

The latest release is the one being on their add-on page in Mozilla (4.0.3.1).

Check out the candidates:

https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/calendar/lightning/candidates/

Candidates there for all new versions. Even 6.2.2.1 there for each language! Ok, we're done, since there is the 6.2.2.1-hu what I need.

No, we're not done.

There you only find the candidates. Stop searching for the releases, they are not there, and even not there the latest candidates which are listed on the projects home page (remember? the first link I showed).

So, download the beta6, then you have a version which is usable - and having 'only' 21 bugs.

I'm using it, it's _quite_ OK, and Hungarian.

I may say something is really screwed up here at Thunderbird.
