Paul, the closing output is normal from a debug build (it's turned off in final builds). I suspect you're now hitting another open issue - can you check the following bugs and see if you fit any of them?

If so, get in touch with me or comment on the bug, and it would be great if you could try a run with the Thunderbird profiler to help us isolate the problem.
