Steps to reproduce:

1. Installed thunderbird 7.x, 8.x from ubuntu oneiric repository, or 9.x from http://ppa.launchpad.net/mozillateam/thunderbird-next/ubuntu
2. started thunderbird from command line

Actual results:

nothing at console
crash report dialog at gui
