The log files contain following error message.
  fmtutil-sys failed. Output has been stored in /tmp/fmtutil.1SuYhvnT

If that file still exists, please attach it to this bug report. If not, please try running following command in terminal and if similar error pops up, attach the file mentioned in the error to this bug report:
  sudo dpkg --configure texlive-binaries
