Hi!

My main problem is that my shutdown hangs indefinitely. I came to this bug report via this forum thread: ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2140112 (if I'm not entirely wrong I've seen other "shutdown failure on 13.04" threads point to this bug report here).

In any case, my main bug is that the shutdown doesn't power of my machine. I am not conviced that this is really related to the unmount error messages. But since RichB also reported his problems here, I thought I'd add to it as well. I susptect that many of the "affected users" are actually affected by the shutdown bug. If you google for "ubuntu 13.04 shutdown" you can find several people that seem to suffer from this issue. I am happy to open another bug report by it, since I am not confinced the two are related (Especially since the initial report doesn't have shutdown problems).

I have three machines that have clean 13.04 installs. Two laptops, one desktop. All of them *sometimes* fail to shut down cleanly. It doesn't happen all the time, but about 75% of the shutdowns just "hang" without powering down the machine. I have not been able to pin down what happens the failed shutdowns.

I can think of the following similarities between the 3 machines:

* all run proprietary nvidia drivers (version 313)
* on all of them I deactivated encrypted swap (on the desktop I deactivated swap alltogether)
* all of them have encrypted filesystems that are mouned via LUKS and libpam-mount

In any case, this error is VERY annoying. Among things it stops me from remotely starting/shutting down/rebooting my machines.
