- Each new release usually adds previously unsupported games or improves support for the already emulated ones.
- Mame(TM) has its own bug reporting site (MAMETesters), and each release fixes a number of them (listed in whastnew.txt)
- At some point since 0.123 a new utility for laserdisc games has been released (it's in the sdlmame-tools binary) and a deprecated one has been removed
- Internally, each new release also cleans and improves the code, and this obviously makes SDLMAME more stable and fast
