by the way it is Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS 64 bit on virtual box.
the output:
Setting up samba4 (4.0.1+dfsg1-1) ...
hostname: Name or service not known
ERROR(<class 'samba.provision.InvalidNetbiosName'>): uncaught exception - The name ''UBUNTU-VM-MAC'' is not a valid NetBIOS name
