I am also having a very similar issue. I upgraded from Breezy to the 6.06 LTS RC and since then Nautilus will not display the contents of my Samba share. The Samba server I am trying to access is on another Ubuntu Linux box, which currently is running Breezy. Please see my post at:

As I mention in the post, Nautilus seems to resolve the Samba server name and the share, but just fails to display the contents. Also mentioned, is that I can access the Samba share via smbclient and through mounting usign mount -t smbfs. This seems to be some weird Nautilus problem, maybe because I updated to Dapper RC and didn't do a full install. I will do a full install on another test machine and see if it will work.
