The dates do not appear to be in any sort of ambiguous format as suggested in the Gnome bugzilla bug.
The other bug that this is a duplicate off removed the "papercut" status because Banshee was due to become the default player in Ubuntu 9.10, replacing Rhythmbox, but I believe this was changed and Rhythmbox is still the default player; this means that this /is/ a papercut.
I am also experiencing this problem on 9.10.
