Thanks for the response.

Sorry, I don't have the log files you requested because I immediately
re-installed Hardy after the crash. But after re-installing Hardy, I did
successfully upgrade to Intrepid on a second attempt. It's working fine so
far. During the second upgrade attempt, I received another error message
which doesn't appear to be a problem (yet). The error message during the
upgrade said, "error occurred while loading or saving configuration
information for evolution-alarm-notify. Some of your configuration settings
may not be working properly." Details showed "CORBA error: IDL:
omg.org/CORBA/Comm_Failure:1.0".

Another error during the second upgrade attempt occurred which said "Network
Manager applet could not find some required resources. It cannot continue."

Despite these issues, Intrepid seems to be working well right now. I've
attached the log files to this email from the folder /var/log/dist-upgrade.
