I've had a number of problems lately with quodlibet and have traced them to the fact that quodlibet periodically writes garbage to the ~/.quodlibet/config file and to other files it uses, for example, the files in the ~/.quodlibet/playlists/ folder. When I've had problems with these files, I've looked at them and found that they had been changed from plain text to binary garbage. When I removed these files, quodlibet would start normally but later the files would again be corrupted. This may have something to do with the fact that X is crashing a lot on me lately. I think, but am not certain, that these files disappear or are changed to garbage when quodlibet is not cleanly shut down.
