I'm on 12.04.4 and a simple apt-get install qemu-kvm-spice gave me the qemu-system-x86_64-spice which worked fine. I also got a black screen after installing the guest tools, and the QNX driver, upon first boot in QNX mode... but just gave it a few minutes to detect and install the driver - it's very slow before that gets enabled.
