Bug Description

Binary package hint: polipo

polipo (1.0.3-1ubuntu1) hardy; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian unstable, remaining changes:
    - debian/init.d creates /var/run/polipo if it does not exist.
    - Update maintainer in field debian/control.

Debian changelog (since 1.0.1-2ubuntu1):
polipo (1.0.3-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
  * Changed pattern in the debian/watch to avoid searching testing versions
    like `polipo-20071001'

I tried to reproduce Bug #47545 again and everything seems to work fine. Is this change still really needed? Are you able to reproduce the error on starting polipo up?

Also would be nice to get some feedback about this from upstream, maybe registering on <email address hidden> Mailing List and asking about these changes reporting back here when done. Would you mind doing it?

I've tested the Debian package and it works without problems, so, the package doesn't need of /var/run/polipo.
I'll change the description and the tag to request a sync.

Thanks

Another change.
The package has need of merge.
I've sent an e-mail to maintainer of package and he says:

For definition, they have to be create from root and the user hasn't to
do all with privileges of root.
The directory would have to be included in an any directory to be
executed from root.

Anyhow, I'll proceed with the merge.

Thanks.
