Bug Description

Binary package hint: polipo

/var/run is mounted as tmpfs.
/etc/init.d/polipo executes "mkdir -p /var/run/polipo" (as root).
/etc/init.d/polipo calls /usr/lib/polipo/polipo-control whichs calls start-stop-daemon which wants to create /var/run/polipo/polipo.pid, but as user proxy. This fails because user proxy has not the rights to do so.

Suggested solution: In /etc/init.d/polipo, add "chown proxy.proxy /var/run/polipo" after "mkdir -p /var/run/polipo".

I can confirm this bug. The suggested solution seems reasonable.
