With nvidia 290 (and I think some 2XX version before that) after logging out and in again in KDE applications are rendered wrong. In GTK it seems to be mostly the background, resulting in a full-transparent gnome-terminal or white background being shown as black in firefox or thunderbird (see screenshot) and text selection being invisible. Another application that's affected is ksnapshot here (Qt), but I haven't seen a pattern for Qt applications.
reproducability on the 2 PC's I tried this on:
