I should probably add that I am on Ubuntu 12.04.1 with Unity and using a German keyboard layout, but the US English keyboard layout (US International, alternative) seems to have the same problem.
Also, activating dead keys, using acute plus c, I get "ç", not "ć".
(Should this go to a different bug, or is this a c plus something bug?)
