For testing purposes, I am trying to download ubuntu's iso.
As Igor suggested, I tried manually assigning the IP address but I still get random disconnects while downloading the file.
I attach the syslog at the time of disconnect, where you can see:
wlan0: deauthenticated from 00:1e:e5:7a:44:60 (Reason: 14)
Influeced by the original poster, I have also tried a more recent networkmanager (the https://launchpad.net/~network-manager/+archive/trunk PPA), but without any luck.
