It seems to work for me, but YMMV (you shouldn't probably do this if you are not able to "fix" network connectivity without the help of network-manager, e.g. using command-line tools).

FWIW, I found a PPA to get newer versions of network-manager on Lucid: cf. https:/ /launchpad. net/~network- manager/ +archive/ trunk?field. series_ filter= lucid (NetworkManager daily trunk builds for ubuntu):
