I'm also seeing this bug in 8.10, Alpha 5, and daily ISO image http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20080930.4/intrepid-desktop-amd64.iso

Specifically, NetworkManager Applet 0.7.0 ~~svn20080907t033843-0ubuntu2 will no longer my WPA2 personal password and I have to enter it each time I log on on my Dell or Lenovo laptops. This is a regression from Hardy 8.04.
