I'm also experiencing this problem on Hardy Beta (updated 19/04/08), gives message "attempting to connect to wireless network 'null'" and doesn't change.

Same for both WEP enabled and disabled.

Driver: RaLink RT2600 802.11 MIMO
Card: Edimax EW-7628IG (PCI)
