I am working on this. I have found 4 separate bugs so far. There are more however. Note the first bug listed below was closed, but the problem was not fixed. It needs to be reopened by someone who has the authority. I can neither reopen old bugs nor can I actually commit anything. I hope someone on the Ubuntu end will help.
All I am doing is running nm-applet under valgrind and reading code. Activating and deactivating my wireless radio seems to reliably push memory usage up. The problem is of course sifting through all the garbage from gtk in the logs. If anyone has an up-to-date suppressions file it would be useful. The official one over on gnome live seems to be a dead link.
