Frankly stupid- it should just silently delete the files, if that is my preference. Ok, then the reason suggests that there should a corresponding option somewhere in the preferences.
Actually this bug is not that stupid. What's stupid is that somebody "fixed" this bug, and now it is impossible to delete a non empty folder. As a result in order to delete a folder that has 500 inner populated folders you have to empty the 500 damn folders first - file management usability at its best. Why am I still trying to use linux? Why?
