Comment 1 for bug 970675

I upgraded my ubuntu installation from 11.10 and had trouble with the database updated. I had to manually fix the problems:

The update script tried to insert rows into the table recordfilter which already exists, however. So I deleted the content of that file. But the failed script did not rollback so there were changes made that crashed on the next update (column filter already exists in table record) try which I had manually fix. There were two other issues on updating I do not remember anymore.
