Thanks for the patch, this already missed 12.04 release, I'll re-visit it for the 12.10 release.

Some of the code around this area changed for the 12.04 release, to fix: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythexport/+bug/688049

So you will need to re-adjust your fix once you upgrade.
