Same problem here. Mumble worked great from ppa and stopped working after upgrade to 10.04.
I use 64 bit, a friend with 32bit is not affected, maybe a 64-bit only problem?

running through the audio vizard didn't work for me, mumble started hanging after clicking on next after the device selection (maybe it couldn't connect properly to pulse? )
