Silverlight 4 content is highly unlikely to work. The package in the archive targets Silverlight 2.

This bug did affect me. Solution for me after some googling with no hints at all I found this while debugging.

Totem player refused to connect to stream from any silverlight sites. After purging totem with apt I installed mplayer, and gecko-mediaplayer, downloaded silverlight-media-pack-linux-x86-5-1.so codec from Microsoft and windows-essential-20071007 from MplayerHQ website.

Copied silverlight-media-pack-linux-x86-5-1.so (I have uploaded a copy to my server http://www.nixn.org/essentials/silverlight-media-pack-linux-x86-5-1.so in case it's hard to find). Symlinked it into /usr/lib/codecs followed by ldconfig. After this I have no problem with silverlight sites using the moonlight plugin.

Sorry. My above solution doesn't include silverlight 4. Note. I had several email regarding moonlight not working at all. Not even v1. The above post fixed version 1 and 2 viewing problems.

This works perfectly with git master. Could you try with our latest preview release, the odds are it works fine there aswell. If you still have issues, please re-open the bug.
