Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde

The Dutch KDE translations in interprid are highly outdated. This is due to a (in my opinion) completely wrong translation policy. It seems that the hardy translations (from ubuntu) are used, and then updated against the latest source.

My question is: Why? The dutch kde-team has already done this work (translating KDE 4.1.x), so why do this all over? Can't the upstream translation be used?

It is
a)Impossible to do this work in launchpad in just a month
b)bad for the user, his favorite app isn't translated properly
c)bad for kde-nl, since their hard work isn't used

It's weird that ubuntu, that wants to give the user a fully translated OS follows this policy, since it will be bad for the user experience.
