After updates and several I get just a wallpaper;
- no dash
- no panel
- could not start any program, just a VT terminal

After I enabled low graphics mode see #4, I'm able to, at least, start Firefox, still
- dash not working, but keyboard shortcuts are
- not window switching, alt tab
- windows key not working
- can't shutdown through menu

But no sudden log-outs.

Booting with an older kernel (4.4) did not help, so my guess the latest mesa/xorgs updates are the culprit.
