* The new behaviour was the intended one. I have applied a patch to
  accept previous behaviour as well.
* version number fixed
* reverted the logwatch, checkarray, apport changes
* made debian rules changes minimal
* preserved previous behaviour changes:
  - bitmap chunk size of 0 means 512B
