comment out the line "blacklist usbmouse" (change to "#blacklist usbmouse") or remove that line altogether and reboot/shut down and cold boot and see if this fixes the issue.
Seemed to work for my dad's pc. If so, i belive this means there is a problem in the usbhid kernel module.
