Did clean install off precise beta and updated to your kernel. On touching screen cursor dissapeared to bottom right. Updated to all latest updates including latest official kernel (but not proposed) same result.
Then installed eGTouch_v2.2.1506.L-x and single touch works and seems stable with your kernel (It also kind of works with latest official kernel but both touchscreen and touchpad quickly stop responding) . Perhaps it may be of interest to note that although I did not need to calibrate, 'sudo eGTouchU' runs but does not allow calibration just line test.
Enabling "Two-finger scrolling" in System Setting->Mouse and Touchpad->Touchpad->Two-finger scrolling also seems to cause problems, seems best set to "Edge" instead
