@ Rick -- Thanks! Actually both your comments ended up helping! Since I could do the 1st suggestion after doing your 2nd suggestion. Works perfectly, and now I don't have to shutdown to disconnect my external drive until this bug gets fixed. Awesome.
Very helpful for my overall learning as well, since I'm still pretty much a newbie and don't bother learning how to do something until I encounter a bug :-p
